The agreement between you and Recoilix LLC for the use of Anteproof: the website, the API, the
MCP server, the digest and every plan.
Draft of 4 September 2026.
Draft, under counsel review, effective on publication. This text is a draft.
It has not taken effect; it is being reviewed by counsel and becomes effective on the day it is published here
without this notice. Questions: [email protected].
Anteproof is an information publication. Recoilix LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating from
North Carolina ("Recoilix", "we", "us"), publishes probability forecasts about open-source projects, packages and
related organisations, timestamps each forecast before the outcome is known, and scores every forecast in public
against what happened. The service consists of the website at anteproof.com, the REST API and MCP server at
api.anteproof.com, the weekly digest, and the account features described on the account
page (together, the "Service"). These terms, the privacy policy and the
refund and cancellation policy form the agreement between you and Recoilix. By creating an
account, using an API key, or otherwise using the Service you accept them. If you use the Service for an
organisation, you confirm you may bind it.
2. Forecasts are information, not advice
Every forecast is a general, impersonal statement published on a schedule to everyone at once. It is a
statistical estimate of the chance that a stated event occurs, produced by a fixed rule and a documented model, and
scored later. A forecast is not:
advice of any kind — not investment, financial, trading, legal, security, engineering or professional
advice — and it is not tailored to you, your situation or your portfolio;
a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, adopt, remove, trade or take any action in respect of any security,
asset, token, contract, market position, package or project;
a rating, certification, endorsement or warranty of any project or package. We never describe a package as
"safe"; the Service reports what a project has done and what we expect it to do;
a claim that the Service beats, predicts or outperforms any market, index or other forecaster.
We do not trade, take positions in, or accept payment from the subjects of forecasts. We are not a registered
investment adviser, broker, rating agency or auditor. You are solely responsible for any decision you make, and
you should not rely on a forecast without your own judgement and, where appropriate, professional advice. The
published calibration record shows how past forecasts scored; it is not a promise about
future ones.
3. Accounts
Reading the public log needs no account. The watchlist, API keys and paid plans do. Sign-in is provided by our
identity provider (email code or Google). You must be at least 16, give accurate information, and keep your
sign-in method and API keys confidential. Everything done through your account or your keys is your
responsibility until you tell us the account or key is compromised. One person, one account; a team or
organisation may hold accounts for its members. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the Service for your own information, research, engineering and internal business purposes,
including inside tools and agents you run. You may not:
resell, sublicense, rent, syndicate or bulk-redistribute forecasts, scores or API responses, or offer a
service whose substantial value is the Service's data, without a written agreement with us;
scrape, crawl or bulk-download the website, or access the API by means other than a key issued to you;
share API keys between accounts, pool keys, or evade quotas, metering or access controls;
overload, probe, reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or with other
users;
present a forecast as advice, a rating or a certification, remove a forecast's timestamp, question wording
or receipt when reproducing it, or misattribute it;
use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights, or in any high-risk setting where an error
could cause injury or serious loss.
5. API and MCP terms
Keys. API keys are issued to an account, shown once, and may be revoked by you or by us at any time.
You are responsible for their storage and use.
Quotas. Each plan carries a monthly call allowance, per account and across all keys and sign-ins:
Free 1,000 calls, Pro 20,000 calls, resetting on the first of each calendar month (UTC). At the allowance the
API answers with HTTP 429 and does not bill silently. Allowances, plan features and prices are those shown on the
account page and in the developer docs at the time of use; we may
change them with notice under section 10.
Fair use. There is no separate per-second limit today; we may throttle or block traffic that
degrades the Service for others.
Licence. Subject to these terms we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to
call the API and MCP server and to use the responses within your account's purposes. Responses may be cached
and stored for your own use while you hold a plan and for reasonable archival afterwards.
Attribution. Where you display a forecast to third parties, keep its question wording, probability,
timestamp and a link to the question page, and attribute it to Anteproof.
Changes. Endpoints, tools and response fields may be added; existing fields may be deprecated with
at least 30 days' notice on the docs page where practicable. Beta or "preview" features may change without
notice.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Plans. Every new account starts on a 14-day Pro trial; no payment method is needed. When the trial
ends the account continues on the Free plan unless a Pro subscription is started. Pro is billed in advance,
monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout.
Merchant of record. Purchases are made through Stripe, which acts as merchant of record: Stripe sells
the subscription to you, collects payment, determines and remits applicable sales tax or VAT, and issues the
invoice or receipt. Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's terms shown at checkout.
Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current
price until cancelled. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price increase takes effect on a
renewal.
Failed payment. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries; if it still fails the subscription lapses
and the account returns to the Free plan.
Taxes. Prices are shown exclusive of tax unless the checkout states otherwise; tax is calculated by
the merchant of record at checkout.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked on the account page. Access to
Pro continues to the end of the paid period and no further charge is made. Refunds are handled under the
refund and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. Statutory rights you have
as a consumer under the law of your country are not affected.
8. Content and data rights
Our content. Forecasts, scores, question wordings, the calibration record, text, design and software
are owned by Recoilix or its licensors and protected by copyright and database rights. Apart from the licences
in these terms, no rights are granted.
Derived data only. The Service publishes derived scores and forecasts. We do not republish the raw
content of the third-party sources we read (for example, code, commit contents, issue text, release notes or
market data); such content stays with its owners and their terms.
Quoting. You may quote individual forecasts and calibration figures, with attribution and a link to
the question or calibration page, in commentary, research and reporting.
Your content. You keep the rights to anything you submit (for example, a lock file or SBOM uploaded to
check dependencies). You grant us a licence to process it to provide the Service to you. We do not use your
submissions to train models or to publish anything that identifies you.
Feedback. Suggestions you send us may be used without obligation.
Public record. The forecast log and the calibration record, including every miss and every failed
gate evaluation, are published so that anyone can check the track record. We do not remove forecasts from the
record.
9. Coverage and provenance policy
Projects, packages and organisations are added to the Service by our own selection and on customer request.
On request we track only entities whose maintaining organisation is established in the United States, the
European Union, the United Kingdom or another allied jurisdiction as we determine, and we may decline or remove
any entity at our discretion. A tracked entity's presence in the Service is not an endorsement, and its absence is
not a judgement.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and the forecast schedule regular, but we do not guarantee uptime,
continuity of any question family, or that any particular entity will keep being forecast. We may change,
suspend or retire features, families or plans. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email or on the Service
of a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes; if you do not accept it you may cancel and, for
the unused part of a prepaid period, request a pro-rated refund.
11. No warranty of accuracy
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all
warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement,
and any warranty that forecasts will be accurate, calibrated, complete, timely or free of error, that data sources
will be correct or continuous, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure. Forecasts can be, and some
will be, wrong; the calibration record exists to show how often.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: (a) neither Recoilix nor its members, officers, contractors or suppliers
is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost
profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, or for any loss arising from reliance on a forecast or
from a decision made with the Service, however caused and under any theory of liability; and (b) our total
liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these terms is limited to the greater of
the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and 50 US dollars. Nothing in
these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury
caused by negligence, or a consumer's non-waivable statutory rights.
13. Indemnity
If you use the Service for a business, you will defend and indemnify Recoilix against third-party claims,
and the reasonable costs of them, arising from your breach of these terms or your use of the Service in violation
of law or of another's rights.
14. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the account page or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate
access immediately for a material breach, for abuse or security reasons, or where required by law, and otherwise
on 30 days' notice. On termination your licences end and your keys stop working; sections 2, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15 and
16 survive. Personal data is handled as described in the privacy policy.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict
of laws rules. Subject to the next sentence, the state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive
jurisdiction over any dispute, and each party consents to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep
the protection of any mandatory law of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there. Before starting
proceedings, each party will try to resolve the dispute by contacting the other in writing and discussing it in
good faith for 30 days.
16. General
These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the entire agreement about the Service and replace
earlier versions. A separate written agreement (for example a pilot agreement with a
data processing addendum) prevails over these terms where they conflict.
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its effective date and notify account
holders by email at least 14 days before a material change takes effect; continued use after that date is
acceptance. Changes required by law may take effect sooner.
If a provision is unenforceable it is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stands. Our not
enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor of the
business. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside its reasonable control.
Notices to you go to your account email. Notices to us go to the address in section 17.
